Hammer might be good on the SB for the long games. That extra turn won't do a whole lot for you. Ugin's Nexus is hilarious, but even if you run 4x Torch Fiend (don't do this) and 4x ] it's not the best idea. Definitely might be the card that pushes through against a lot of other decks, including the mirror. I really like the idea of ] in this deck. I'd rather have more 1/1s or ways to make the 1/1s bigger, and at the 3-drop spot you have Chief of the Foundry, who's great at that (though I really wish he was ])Īlso, I'd take out Pia/Kiran, as said, and Reclusive Artificer as well, because it's at best a sideboard card without the words "or player" on its direct damage ability. WRT the Engineer, I still feel like 3 CMC to give your 1/1s haste isn't the best deal. Might add some Guardian Automatons for lifegain, but it seems like a worse Arashin Cleric (though it's on-theme for Constructs) My sideboard for this deck is almost all counterspells and more direct damage. I like this build because almost everything is either a Thopter or a Construct, which makes Obelisk of Urd even more useful. He allows me to both run the deck at 22 lands and get out big Hangarbacks, but doesn't really do anything else so he can be kind of dead unless I already have support on the board. Pia/Kiran also require too much mana investment for not enough damage on a creature that can easily be removed. Whirlerback Rogue (? The blue one/only one that makes two thopters) might be an exception, but I'd rather see a Spy Network or a 2/2 Hangarback come out on T4. I think all of the Thopter creating creatures are traps. Also might find room for 2 more Spy Networks. It's a good/easy Ensoul target and helps Thopters swing big. Might find room for Ghostfire Blade, possibly cutting the Bonded Constructs. So what that this deck won't be legal in a few months? Enjoy it while we can! - Italicized cards indicate not ORI block While there are cards from M15 specifically that would be of great help to us, those are rotating out in 3 months, so to future proof your deck, consider this build of ORI-only cards (Start with build 1 then add/remove the following cards For consistency's sake, buy 2 and double the number of key cards. THOP THOP THOP THOP *leaps off thopter dramatically - Did I hear someone call for thopter decks?īeginning player who doesn't want to brew their own deck, Wizard provides a base with a UR Thopter Assemble Victory Deck. r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
